1. About Barcoa

Barcoa is a social media application for sharing and discovering restaurant visits.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Barcoa.
• By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Accounts

• Accounts are created using Apple, Google, or one-time passwords (OTP) via email.
• You are responsible for keeping your account secure.
• You may delete your account at any time from within the app.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. User Content

Barcoa allows users to create and share content related to restaurant visits, including:

• Reviews, ratings, and notes about restaurants
• Photos and videos
• Music or songs attached to a post
• Comments (including GIFs) and likes
• Restaurant lists, favorites, and "want to visit" saves
• Tagging other users you visited a restaurant with

You:

• Retain ownership of your content
• Grant Barcoa a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and distribute your content within the app for the purpose of operating the service

You are responsible for the content you post, and for having the rights to any content, photos, or people you include. If you tag or reference another person, you must respect their privacy.

5. Prohibited Content

You may not post content that is:

• Hate speech or harassment
• Sexually explicit or pornographic
• Illegal or promotes illegal activity
• Misleading, spam, or abusive
• Infringing on intellectual property rights

We reserve the right to remove content and ban users at our discretion.

6. Public and Private Content

• Users may choose whether content is public or private.
• Public content may be visible to other users of the app.

7. Barcoa Pro Subscription

Barcoa is free to use. We also offer an optional paid subscription called Barcoa Pro. Buying Pro is entirely optional and is not required to use the core features of the app.

Barcoa Pro currently unlocks:

• An ad-free experience
• Precision ratings (finer-grained scores)
• Adding music or a song to your posts
• GIFs in comments

The exact features included in Barcoa Pro may change over time.

Billing and auto-renewal

• Purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) through their in-app purchase systems. We use RevenueCat to manage entitlements. We never receive or store your full payment card details.
• Subscriptions automatically renew for the same period at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage, cancel, or turn off auto-renewal at any time in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Prices, refunds, and changes

• Prices are shown in the app before you confirm a purchase and may vary by country and over time. We will seek your consent for price increases where required by law or store policy.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies, as they are the seller of record. Please contact the relevant store for refund requests.
• If we discontinue Barcoa Pro or a specific Pro feature, we will provide reasonable notice and, where required, handle any active subscriptions in accordance with applicable law and store policies.

8. Advertising

Barcoa uses Google AdMob to display ads to users on the free plan. Ads may be personalized according to applicable laws, your device settings, and your tracking choices. Barcoa Pro subscribers do not see ads.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to Barcoa if:

• These Terms are violated
• Required by law
• Necessary to protect users or the platform

10. Disclaimer

Barcoa is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and restaurant information (including details from third-party sources) may not always be accurate or up to date.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Barcoa is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, or for content posted by other users. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable consumer law.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any disputes shall be handled by Norwegian courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have in your country of residence.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the app. Your continued use of Barcoa after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
